From Renovations to Innovations: The Fairgrounds Development Plan
Our needs are significant, and we are currently tackling numerous projects and ongoing repairs. Among our priorities is a 10-site expansion at the Canoe Launch Campground. Following the loss of the shower and restroom facility due to a sewage backup, we are planning to renovate, insulate, and add heating to the restrooms in the Floriculture Building. Additionally, we aim to construct a new shower and restroom facility for the campground expansion and build another set of restrooms near the Main Street gate.
Other key projects include implementing a Fairgrounds-wide Wi-Fi network, installing new security cameras, replacing or repairing streetlights and building lights, upgrading outdated fluorescent fixtures to energy-efficient LEDs across all buildings, and installing new arena lighting and a modern speaker system. We also plan to renovate the beer garden, update the office, and improve the interior of the Grandstands.
Looking ahead, there are tentative plans to convert the old shower and restroom facility into a maintenance shop, construct a standalone office building, and demolish the old shop to better utilize the space. In the future, we are also looking at replacing the electrical systems in all of the older buildings to ensure safety and efficiency.
