The Chouteau County Fair board is pleased to announce there will be a carnival at the fair this year. Airnasitcs Amusements will be providing rides and entertainment for all ages. They service the Rockie Mountain area with bounce type rides as well as traditional carnival rides. “We are very excited to be able to bring rides to the fair, states chairman Laurie McCullough, They are something the public has been asking for the last three years. Ticket prices are reasonable and wristband deals will be offered all three days. We are hoping everyone will be happy that we are providing a complete fair experience this year.” Start making plans now to attend and participate in the 96th Annual Chouteau County Fair. The fair line up is action packed once again. Fair dates are August 15-19, 2008 however August 14th kicks off the action in the evening with the Junior Rodeo. Boys and Girls ages 4 to 18 will be participating in events such as boot racing, barrel racing, breakaway roping , pole bending, and crowd favorites’ sheep riding and mini bull riding. Bright and early on Friday, August 15th the 4-H’ers begin their big weekend of showing, and judging in various venues. Culminating with the auction on Sunday afternoon. On Friday night Pig Wrestling is back in a big way. Forty teams will be trying to catch the pig and put it in a barrel while wading in muck. Committee chairman Conn Forder has decided to move the event in front of the Grandstands to provide spectators an opportunity to view the action more easily than last year. He is suggesting you get your teams together early as this event looks to be a big winner. Saturday night August 16, Chairman Corey Embleton is proud to be bringing the third annual PRCA Rodeo to the Chouteau County Fair. New West Rodeo Productions owner, Wade Sankey will be the stock contractor. The Sankey name has been equated with rodeos in Montana for many years and Wade’s company is proudly carrying on the tradition. Immediately following the rodeo, spectators will be entertained by Montana’s own TrickRider Band. Winding Up the entertainment on Sunday, August 17 once again the fair will be sponsoring the 39th Annual Demolition Derby, always a crowd pleaser. Naturally the food vendors will be keeping everyone well fed. Friday is again going to be “Have Lunch At The Fair” day. A NEW charm for the Fair will be introduced that day as well. Saturday is “Tough Enough To Wear Pink” day. If you are wearing pink and purchase a rodeo ticket the Fair Board will give $1.00 of that ticket sale to the Chouteau County Cancer Society. Sunday is “Senior Citizens” day. Special parking areas will be available for seniors close to the action and exhibits. For more information email chocofair@mtintouch.net or call 406-622-5505.
